Another aspect of Blacko life is its vibrant social scene. 

Blacko Events Committee organises functions and activities for all sections of the parish, and last year notched up no fewer than 13. 

One of the highlights is the traditional Village Show and Family Fun Day, where many villagers join in, roll up their sleeves and make the day the great success that it has become. 

The Events Committee turned its ability to organise events into fund raising, when, in 2009, after only three years, it was able to hand over nearly £42,000 to Blacko Parish Council to replace the play equipment on the recreation ground, which that year won Pendle Community Network’s Play Setting of the Year award.
